Apple's next generation iPhone may feature curved glass display, rounded edges, and an all-aluminum rear shell, according to a new report from Mac Otakara.

Citing "reliable source" the report pointed that the iPhone 6 will depart from the straight, square edges used in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5s, and will instead adopt a curved edge design more in keeping with the original iPhone, the iPhone 3G, and the iPhone 3Gs. The publication likens the design of the iPhone 6 to the Squair Curvaceous Bumper (that is available on Amazon for $200 after a $100 discount), a Japan-made aluminum iPhone bumber that features a rounded housing.

The report also noted that the rear glass antenna breaks used in the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s will be removed in favor of an all-aluminum design. Such a move would likely mean that Apple is planning radical alterations to its antenna layout for the iPhone 6, perhaps positioning current radios in different locations.

Many preceded reports indicated that Apple next generation iPhone may feature slightly rounded edges, while only a few reports have claimed that the iPhone 6 may feature a curved glass display, with Bloomberg noting last December that iPhone 6 could feature “larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges.” In the same context, contrast to that The Wall Street Journal this past January claimed that Apple would not be using a curved display in its devices.

Besides to larger screen, next generation-iPhone is expected to sport an ultra-thin design with rounded edges. It may include A8 processor with 1GB RAM, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and an upgraded camera featuring optical image stabilization. Jefferies analyst Peter Misek reported that Apple is negotiating with carriers for a $100 price increase on the iPhone 6 as the device gets larger and the company packs more technology into it.
