Users of iOS devices will not expect any great changes and new adding features to their operating systems this year, that according to Ina Fried, chief tech correspondent at Axios, instead Apple will focus on stability and bug fixes this strategy will also extend to macOS but at a lesser degree.


The report depended upon a claiming meeting held by Apple’s software engineering chief Craig Federighi earlier this month where he announced the revised plans to employees.

There are many planned features will be delayed until 2019 as Fried said like a revamped iPhone screen, CarPlay interface, improvement to main apps like Mail and updates to deal with photos including capturing, editing and sharing.

This delay will give to Apple more time to addressing performance and quality issues, while iOS 12 will be not empty of new features, the report mentioned that will be there improvements in some areas including Health app, ARKit, and parental controls.

In addition, Apple is said working firstly to make iPhones “more responsive” and "less prone to cause customer support issue.”

Another statement came after Fried report from Mark Gurman for Bloomberg News to corroborate this one, and according to his source this shift in strategy will extend to macOS at lesser degree but will not affect the development cycles of watchOS or tvOS.
The company told its software engineering groups about the change this month, one of the people said. The shift will also affect this year's update to Mac computer software, but to a lesser degree, the person said, adding that planned upgrades to Apple Watch and Apple TV software won’t be affected
Apple usually announces new iOS and others OSs at Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in June followed by beta versions period oriented to developers and public testers while the official launch will be coming in the fall coincides with the rolling out of new iPhones.

Despite long beta period Apple’s OSs, especially iOS and macOS, know some issue and bugs that appear on some device generations and throughout the usage phase sometimes extended to include security vulnerabilities.
