The next version of iPhone X which is expected to release this fall could have a small notch for the TrueDepth camera system, while the 2019 iPhone generation or later will have no notch, this according to Korea's ET News recent report.

The report confirms widely rumors about Apple plans to launch three iPhones this year, which are: the second-generation of iPhone X, a larger so-called iPhone X Plus with OLED 6.5-inch display and the lower-cost version with LCD 6.1-inch display. all these iPhone models will have slimmer bezels and smaller notches.

The report also added citing that to a representative of unnamed industry, Apple has decided to remove the notch from 2019 lineups, claiming the third version of the iPhone X could be the first one with complete full-screen.

“Apple decided to get rid of notch design starting from 2019 models and is having discussions with relevant companies," said a representative for an industry. "It seems that Apple is planning to implement full-screen that is more complete to its new iPhones."

The notch is a house for TrueDepth sensors that support Face ID, the report claimed all three iPhones will have a Face ID, it is unclear how Apple would dwell the camera and the sensors on the front of the devices without a notch, the report speculates the potential of drilling holes into the display itself or by using patented multi-layer Black-Matrix technology.

This report isn’t the only one predicted the trio upcoming iPhones could have small notches the Barclay analysts also mentioned to that and ET News previously said Apple exploring ways merge a face recognition module with a camera module.

Apple is working to remove the notch is almost certainly but when exactly and how to achieve this goal so far it's unknown, especially with the lack of supply chain reports.
